The Technology Reality for Construction Businesses
Building a Business Is Hard Enough. Technology Shouldn't Make It Harder.
Work happens everywhere but a desk
The construction industry has changed dramatically in the past decade — and so have the technology demands that come with it. Blueprints are in the cloud. Contracts are signed digitally. Subcontractors need remote file access. Project managers are running Teams calls from trucks. Payroll, estimating, and project management software all depend on reliable connectivity, secure access, and a team that can actually get help when something stops working.
Bids, schedules and crews
Meanwhile, the threats have grown too. Ransomware doesn't skip construction companies. Business email compromise — where attackers impersonate owners or vendors to redirect payments — is one of the most financially damaging cyberattacks in the construction sector. And cyber insurance underwriters are asking harder questions than ever before.
Office, field and everything between
Most builders and contractors didn't get into this business to manage IT. But the technology decisions they make — or don't make — directly shape how efficiently the business runs, how secure their client and financial data is, and whether they can compete for larger projects with compliance or technology requirements.
Brew City PC exists to take that burden off your plate — and to make sure the technology your business depends on is managed by people who understand your industry.
We Understand What You're Dealing With
Technology Challenges Facing Builders & Contractors
Secure Project Collaboration
The Right Tools for a Team That’s Never in the Same Place.
The biggest communication and collaboration challenge in construction isn’t finding the right app. It’s getting your entire team — office staff, project managers, field supervisors, subcontractors, and ownership — working from the same information, in real time, securely.
Microsoft 365 is the platform that makes that possible. Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Outlook, combined with mobile access and proper security, give your entire organization a connected, secure, documented way to work — whether someone is at a desk in the office or on a device at the job site.
The difference isn’t just productivity. It’s the difference between jobs that run on accurate, current information and jobs that run on last week’s version of the plans.
What We Set Up and Support
We Know Your World
The technology problems that cost you projects and profits
You’re running a construction business, not an IT department. These are the critical tech bottlenecks that stall your field crews, delay project schedules, or put your hard-earned bids at risk.
Field downtime & idle crews
Every minute your superintendents can't access cloud blueprints or change orders is money down the drain. We ensure field networks stay up so crews stay productive.
Broken project management tools
When Procore lags, Bluebeam freezes, or Sage sync errors pop up right before a major bid deadline, panic sets in. We keep your heavy-lifting trade software optimized.
High risk for wire & invoice fraud
Because you handle large subcontractor payouts, hackers target your emails to intercept payments. We lock down your inboxes and secure your financial workflows.
Unsecured, missing field devices
Laptops and tablets get lost or damaged on messy job sites. We configure mobile device tracking and remote-wipe tools to keep sensitive company and client data out of the wrong hands.
One Partner, Full Stack
Everything your contracting business runs on, handled by one local team
No juggling a software vendor, a job-site Wi-Fi installer, an office cabling contractor, and an IT guy. Brew City PC covers it all under one roof.
Project Management & ERP Support
Fast, optimized troubleshooting and vendor coordination for the heavy trade applications your estimators and project managers rely on daily.
Job-Site & Trailer Connectivity
ugged, temporary field networks and cellular failover solutions designed to keep your field office trailers synced with the cloud.

Bid Security & Fraud Prevention
Multi-layered security controls, advanced email filtering, and invoice verification protocols to prevent devastating cyber wire fraud.
Cloud Hosting & Immutable Backups
Fast, organized shared drives for large CAD and Bluebeam files, paired with ransomware-proof backups that protect your business history.
Bidding with AI
Practical AI implementation designed to streamline your material takeoffs, automate initial estimate drafting, and optimize project schedules.
See what one accountable partner would look like across your office, your trailers, and your job sites.
Protecting the Business You’ve Built
Cybersecurity & AI Advisory for Construction Companies.
Cybersecurity
Construction companies hold exactly the kind of information attackers want: client contracts, payment details, banking relationships, subcontractor lists, and financial records. With a distributed workforce using multiple devices and sending invoices and contracts via email daily, the exposure surface is significant.
Brew City PC builds cybersecurity into every engagement — protecting your business without creating friction for the people who need to get work done.
What We Implement and Manage
- Multi-factor authentication (MFA) across all accounts
- Email security and anti-phishing controls
- Managed endpoint protection on every device
- Backup and recovery oversight — so ransomware isn’t a business-ending event
- Vulnerability assessments that identify risk before attackers do
- Cyber insurance questionnaire support — helping you meet your insurer’s requirements
AI Advisory & Solutions
AI tools like Microsoft Copilot are entering construction businesses through the Microsoft 365 tools your team already uses.
We help you review data access, establish usage policies, and make sure AI tools help your team work faster without exposing sensitive client or project information.
Compliance & Uptime
Meeting bid deadlines is non-negotiable. So is your data protection.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions — Technology for Builders & Contractors
Builders and contractors typically need help desk support for office and field staff, device and endpoint management, Microsoft 365 administration for project collaboration, email and cybersecurity protection, backup and recovery planning, and reliable internet and Wi-Fi at office and shop locations. Many also need structured cabling, security cameras, access control, and conference room AV for their facilities. Brew City PC provides all of these under one relationship.
Microsoft 365 — specifically Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive — is the most practical solution for most construction businesses. Teams channels can be set up per project for real-time communication. SharePoint provides a centralized, version-controlled home for project documents. OneDrive gives field staff access to files from phones and tablets. We deploy and manage these tools properly so your team actually gets the collaboration benefit, not just another app nobody uses.
Yes. SharePoint and OneDrive, set up correctly, replace the scattered file structure of shared drives and email attachments with a centralized, accessible, version-controlled document environment. The right person always has the current version of the plans. Field staff can access files on their phone. And when a project is complete, the full documentation is organized and preserved. We handle setup, migration, and ongoing management.
The most important protections for construction companies are multi-factor authentication (MFA) on all accounts, managed endpoint protection on all devices, email security and anti-phishing controls, and properly configured Microsoft 365 security settings. These controls stop the most common attacks targeting construction businesses — especially business email compromise, where attackers impersonate owners or vendors to redirect payments.
At minimum: MFA across all accounts, managed endpoint protection, email security filtering, backup and recovery, and some form of security awareness training for staff. Many insurers now require these as conditions of coverage. We build these protections into every managed IT engagement — and conduct annual vulnerability assessments to identify gaps before they become incidents.
Yes. Mobile device support — including setup, security configuration, and remote access — is a standard part of our managed IT services. We make sure field staff can access the systems they need, from the devices they’re using, without creating security gaps.
Yes. We support multi-location organizations throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, providing consistent IT support, monitoring, and security management across all sites — office, shop, and job trailer alike.
Our Low Voltage team designs and installs IP camera systems and access control for commercial environments — including construction offices, equipment yards, garages, and facilities. Remote viewing, audit trails, and credential-based door security are standard features.
Cyber insurance underwriters are requiring more specific security controls than ever before — MFA, endpoint protection, email security, tested backups, and documented security policies. We help construction companies understand what their insurer requires, implement the right controls, and document everything for the renewal process.
Three things. First, we understand the construction industry — we’re members of the Metropolitan Builders Association and have built long-term relationships with home builders, general contractors, remodelers, and trade contractors across Southeastern Wisconsin. Second, we handle both IT and physical infrastructure — structured cabling, Wi-Fi, cameras, access control, and AV — so you’re not managing separate vendors for every system. Third, we provide ongoing support and strategic planning, not just reactive fixes. One local partner, one long-term relationship, one team that knows your business.
